Rumeli Hisarı was built in 1452 by Sultan Mehmed II within a few months as part of the preparations for the conquest of Constantinople. Today, it is an important historical monument and a popular tourist attraction.

Following the cleaning process, the architectural team chose to apply ProtecD® Premium mineralization to the fortress. Their aim was to protect the porous stones, especially the joints, using a sustainable treatment solution.

As a result of these measures, the walls are now protected against moisture infiltration and the buildup of moss and dirt.
